A number of women taking part in a kissing competition in China became so overcome that they fainted. The aim of the competition in Hefei, capital of eastern China’s Anhui Province, was to see which couple could kiss for the longest time. To make it more difficult, each couple had to have one person with their feet not touching the ground. More than 50 couples joined the competition but as time past a number of women fainted and had to be taken to hospital. The winning couple managed a time of 2h 43m and won a one-carat diamond ring worth 50,000 Yuan (£5,000).
Oh, well when you put it like that it makes total sense.
