Peach District Classic

What is the Peach District? Geographically speaking, it’s a tiny stretch bordering Victorian Village, The Short North and South Campus. On a more intimate level, it’s a self-styled community of friendly poets, artists and musicians operating on the same enthusiastic wavelength. With the Peach District Classic, these scrappy, scruffy youngsters aim to throw a DIY alley party to end all DIY alley parties. They certainly have the credentials to pull it off: for three months in 2010, the group held “The Greatest Show” once a week – a successful series of vaudeville-style stage performances featuring comedy, dance and live music of all stripes. Notable and curiosity-piquing activities for the Classic include an arm wrestling competition, film screenings and “live” Tetris. All of this will be backed by a soundtrack of Columbus’ finest, with performances by The Dewdroppers, Forest and the Evergreens and Envelope, to name a few.
